MacCallum Land & Cattle Ltd.

MacCallum Land & Cattle was started by Shawn and Danielle MacCallum. The farm is located on the ridge of Del Bonita, Alberta. Shawn's family were some of the original homesteaders of Del Bonita in 1912, and members of their family have been farming and ranching ever since then. Both Shawn and Danielle studied agriculture in a post secondary institution and are constantly working to learn as much as they can while producing the best crops and animals. 

 

Shawn has a Diploma in Animal Science, his Farmer Pesticide Certificate, and is a strong steward of the land. He has integrated cattle into the operation for a number of reasons, including native land conservation and nutrient cycling. Providing the animals and land with the best health possible are top priorities.

 

Danielle has a BSc in Agriculture (focus in Biology), a Diploma in Plant & Soil Science, is a Certified Crop Advisor (CCA), Professional Agrologist (P.Ag), and a licensed Pesticide Applicator. Her focus is to create plant diversity and improve soil health, which ultimately, will result as higher returns for the farm. She also has her own company which provides agronomy and crop inspection services, Agri-FX.

Both Shawn and Danielle are active in their community, enjoy volunteering for different organizations including 4-H, and sit on organizational boards.
